Пока там идут обсуждения по поводу того, какие фильмы вносить в обязательную школьную программу решил посмотреть фильмы "оттуда", так или иначе связанные с этой темой. Выбор пал на фильм "Class of 1984" про старшеклассников и повествующий про вечный конфликт отцов и детей.

Фильм намба ту - Casualties of War c Шоном Пеном и Майклом Фоксом.

А пока мы смотрим американские фильмы сами же американцы задаются вопросом - является-ли Америка моральным лидером или нет? Ответ звучит примерно так

When other countries choose not to listen to the United States or follow its lead, it is not necessarily because we do not practice what we preach; instead, it is because those countries see human rights as a potential threat to their rule. Even if the United States had an unblemished human rights record, the Bashar al-Assads of this world are still going to massacre their people and authoritarian governments will still imprison and torture their dissidents.
